Pandemonium. Anarchy. Riots in the streets. Shootings in churches. Molotovs crashing through the windows of public schools. This is the picture that would be painted should the United States government fail to retrieve the millions of Fushigis from the ocean using a team of highly trained experts. In a study done by Hank Miller, professor of social psychiatry at Glabson College, off the coast of New England, a study group consisting of 100 people of varying race, gender, sexual preference, hair color, and Fushigi relevance were given a plot of land to develop a small town in which to live, under the watchful eye of police and college officials of course. After a week, they were told that the government announced that they weren’t going to be searching for lost Fushigis. Two days later, the society degraded and the psychological health of the volunteers was called into question. Those who had lost Fushigis began to degrade, and those around them, when told of the predicament, felt an abnormal sense of empathy, to the point of insanity. The program was forced to shut down because of this reason. The volunteers regained their previous demeanor following the experiment, but this shows exactly how society will degrade without immediate action. If anything, the amount of stress will be exponential in the case of 300 million people. The only way to prevent this is to change what we as a nation are doing right now: nothing. President Obama and the Legislative Branch must take action.
